What to expect

A space designed for honest conversation.

Taking the first step to talk about intimacy, relationships, or sexual well-being is an act of courage. It's completely normal to feel anxious or unsure before your first appointment, my priority is a space where you feel entirely safe, heard, and supported.

What is psychosexual therapy?

A specialised, collaborative form of talk therapy dedicated to your intimate well-being. It focuses on the emotional, psychological, and relational aspects of human sexuality. Through guided, compassionate conversation we explore your experiences and challenges in a highly confidential, judgement-free environment.

01

Your first session, getting to know you

Our first meeting is primarily an information-gathering session, and we always go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

  • Understanding your goals. We discuss what brought you here and what you hope to achieve.
  • Gathering context. Gentle questions about your background, relationships, and current life.
  • Your boundaries. You're always in the driver's seat, share only what you're ready to share.
02

Connecting the dots, building your roadmap

Once I have a good understanding of your history and current concerns, we move into a phase known as case conceptualisation.

This is where we take all the unique pieces of your story, past experiences, current dynamics, thoughts, and physical wellbeing, and connect the dots into a shared, compassionate understanding of why you're experiencing your current challenges.

It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. We build a customised roadmap so we're using the right tools for your situation.

Subsequent sessions, doing the work

With our roadmap in place, ongoing sessions focus on insight, education, and actionable growth. In these sessions we might:

  • Explore thought patterns. Identify and gently reshape beliefs or anxieties acting as roadblocks to intimacy.
  • Provide education. Evidence-based information on sexual function, anatomy, and psychological wellbeing.
  • Build communication skills. Practical tools to express needs, desires, and boundaries with a partner.
  • Discuss at-home practices. Tailored exercises to practise privately between sessions, to steadily reach your goals.

Whether you arrive solo or as a couple, my role is the same:

to walk alongside you with empathy, clinical expertise, and unwavering support.
